About the Author

Hi! Welcome to my insanity! I'm known as Lorindol on the Jixemitri message boards. Let me give you a little background information about me.

I was born in Duluth, MN on July 28, 19(mumble,mumble). From there, the family moved to Green Bay, WI, then to Rochester, MN, then back to Green Bay, WI. At that point, my father put his foot down with his employer (IBM) and requested not to be moved for a while. All the moving we had done meant that my older brother attended first grade in three different schools. I think that experience scarred him for life - he is still living in Green Bay and as far as I can tell, he will never move.

So, I grew up almost exactly one mile from the famous Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers. I don't generally like to watch football, but I will support the Packers. Other than that, my childhood was decidedly normal. How I turned out so strange is a mystery even Trixie Belden would have a difficult time solving.

At the tender age of eighteen, I quit my waitress job and took a Greyhound bus to Los Angeles. Everything there was a new, and a little strange. I eventually got another waitress job and met the man I married - three months later.

While in California, I lived in Hollywood, Van Nuys, North Hollywood, Moreno Valley, and San Ysidro. Considering I was only there five years, that's a lot of moving around. During that time, I also gave birth to two children, a boy and a girl. After five years, my husband and I decided to move somewhere else, somewhere a little cheaper and a little safer. So we went to Central Florida.

My husband had graduated high school from Winter Park High, and had taken some college classes at a local community college. Seeing that we had decided some sort of advanced education would be required to get (and keep) any kind of decent job, he went back to school. I went to work - at the local university. I ended up taking classes as well and finished a bachelor's degree in 11 years.

After our children had both graduated from high school, and our daughter started college, my husband and I decided it was time for something new. So we sold our house and moved north - to Maine. Unfortunately, after about 18 months there, we decided that we needed to return to Central Florida because of family issues. So here we are once again!

Enough of that. Now, about Trixie Belden ... when I was a kid, my dad gave me a book that he had gotten as a kid - the original dust-jacket version of "The Secret of the Mansion." Not surprisingly, I loved it! Going to the book store, we realized there were a lot more Trixie Belden books ... and an obsession was born. We used to buy the books, then my mother would read them to my brother and I. I would then take them and re-read them to myself. Again and again and ... By the time I'd left home, I'd only read through number 16. Over the years, I've looked for others, and occasionally found some at used bookstores. More recently, I've realized that lots of them are offered for sale on eBay. So far, I've gotten through number 26. Eventually, I will have read and collected the entire 39 book series.

One day late in the spring of 2006, I typed Trixie Belden into a google search. Wow! I was not prepared for the results I got! There's a Trixie Belden home page. There's website for fans to gather. And there's fan fiction galore!! I've started reading these wonderful stories, and they've spawned ideas in my fertile brain for my own stories. So, sit back and enjoy!

I was doing some research recently about Arlington National Cemetary for one of my stories and found some interesting information. Go to my Arlington page to see what I found.

Oh, yes, and regarding that other girl detective - I much prefer Trixie. She always seemed much more real to me, much more like a real person would be.

BTW, if you want to know more about me and my family and my interests ... I have a whole website already set up - The Many Worlds of Diane Mullen.
